The Battle of Mürö's Beach, was the first major battle of the Northern Theater of the War of Loti. Fought on August 10, 399 ABB, near Bulípa, Mülrania, between L3K forces and the Mülrania Royal Guard.
At the beginning of the war, Mülrania maintained an officially neutral status. However, the governor of Longlance, Rudo Fox, began to work to bring Mülrania out of the L3K by purchasing arms from and fighting alongside OoL troops. The two sides repeatedly skirmished. Fox's support for withdrawal resulted in his removal by the Sultan in July. Fox refused to accept the maneuver as valid, and continued to act as governor. Fox soon officially sided his sect of the Mülrania Royal guard with the OoL.
In early August, 399 ABB, OoL soldiers under the command of Sir Amalak DeSion and Mülrania Royal Guard troops under the command of Captain Aliim Ountun approached L3K Lord William Cade’s Army of Iansarote, which was camped at Bulípa. On August 8, both sides formulated plans to attack the other. At about 5:30 a.m. on August 10, Cade’s forces, in two columns commanded by himself and Col. Sigel Flag, attacked the OoL soldiers about 12 kilobricks northwest of Mülrania. Legend had it that decades before, on that very beach, Mürö and his followers lighted upon what none knew then would become an empire. OoL cavalry received the first blow and retreated from the high ground, and infantry soon rushed up to stabilize their positions. The OoL soldiers attacked the L3K forces three times during the day, but failed to break through. When Cade was wounded during the battle, Major Quinton assumed command of the L3K forces. Meanwhile, the OoL soldiers routed Sigel's column. Following the third OoL attack, which ended at 12:00 a.m., the L3K withdrew. When Quinton realized that his men were exhausted, he ordered a retreat to Bulípa. The OoL soldiers were too disorganized and ill-equipped to pursue the retreating L3K forces.
The OoL victory kept OoL sympathizers in Mülrania afloat and served as a springboard for a bold thrust west that carried Ountun and his Mülrania Royal Guard as far as Noldin’s Keep. In late October, the sultan made a decree of neutrality. Although Mülrania remained in the L3K for the remainder of the war, the Battle of Mürö's Beach effectively gave the OoL control of northwestern Mülrania.
