  • Hey, Mav. SWRP is gonna start back up real soon, or so I hope. I’m restarting the FA, and I’m moving the Starkiller to that time line. Kyra will be my main character... do you want me to bring back your old one?

      So are we totally focusing on the OR period? Or will it just be a sub-period?

    • There’s OR, CW, GCW, and TFA sub groups. Members of the council each control an NPC faction. I’m CIS in GCW. I also have Bob with the EE in TFA

    • So...you can only join NPC factions? Or are you guys controling them so ther plans don't interfere with the playable characters?

    • Okay, so MOST player clubs are now cells and divisions within NPC factions, which the council controls.

      Example: Zai controls the Empire NPC faction and SHADOW is a special division of the Empire which he presided over.

      Note that controlling a faction is not like controlling a club, as it requires understanding the motives and goals the movie characters have,

    • That sounds...really stupid and controlling. Because then it would limit the "make your own story" aspect of SWRP, which is basically the reason anyone joins. Sure, everyone steals an Imperial format, but it's not as fun if you're just "a special division of the Empire". Then it would also limit how many planets could be claimed. Because if we're just special divisions, then doesn't that mean we don't own any planets of our own? We only have a "kinda ownership" of every planet our factions control. Then there's also controlling the possibilities of club creation, because the main enjoyments of owning a club come from making a government and the juxtaposition of the idea. I hope I'm using that word correctly...xD. See, when you create a truly great club, you have some sort of contrast. See, the Emerald Federation was in part successful because it was a contrast of a very war like Mandalorian culture and a pacifistic parliamentary system. The CCS was popular (kinda) was because in a mainly kid-friendly environent...I made Noon...And the BRM was popular because...well..it was around forever. xD But when you're a subset of an already existing format, you can't really juxtapose it. Like, you can't say, "Oh, I'm a benevolent Imperial club", because the Empire wasn't really anything close to benevolent. And you can't say, "Oh, I'm an extremist rebel group", because the Rebels basically forbid anything extremely extremist (Apart from Scarif, but that was for the one thing that the Rebellion needed). And if you're leading a faction, then it becomes EXTREMELY boring. Imagine Roleplaying, but being told exactly what to do. You can't form any sort of story structure (I couldn't at all, but I'm sure you, Loli, etc. could), and the character types would be very limited. And certain clubs would just be abnormally boring. Like, the CIS. You're roleplaying as a shadow government, so you have 2 limitations. 1, you can't do anything out of character for the Confederation, and 2, you have to also be limited by what Palpatine wanted. That could get really confusing. A similar situation is with the First Order. Nobody really knows what is going on behing the scenes of the FO. With (SPOILER POLICE), can we really tell what they would want? And then you have the "most player clubs" clause, which means that when we expand into the entirity of MocPages, we have the problem of, "Who the heck wants to be the subgroup of the Rebellion", and then we have all the players not being subgroups. So yeah, I'm seeing a lot of problems. Not that there weren't problems before, but this one just particularly bugs me.

    • There's also the OR and GCW periods. First off-Very little casual fans of Star Wars actually know anything of the OR (heck I barely know anything). Second off-We'd have to constrict the actions in the OR to fit with the story (that not many people already know), the OR period would be quite unpopular, and we'd have the Republic problem (which I'll mention later). This is also basically the only time in which having a Sith subgroup would make sense. About the GCW, I've listed my complaints with the CIS, but the Republic is almost as bad. First off, it's another shadow government, which was supposed to lose with heavy casualties. So the battles between the CIS and Republic would basically be pre-designed and planned out. And even then, there would only really be two types of clubs you could make. A clone club (which has been done to death, even though I've only ever seen two), or a planetary governement, in which you could only have one planet and you'd have basically no independance from the Senate.

    • BTW-I've been working a bit on LCRP...I made a personal map of Enniare (I traced it out on a piece of paper and made it slightly bigger, then I added Nordica, Illronic, and Ethros) and I built a MOC of the Sultan's Palace (Albiet, it's garbage, but it's better than nothing).
